The Gate has 3 branches in London now, all with a great atmosphere. Plenty of vegan options in a modern, and relaxed setting. The Angel branch is bigger and has a cute fire place, perfect for dates and special celebrations, or just a nice lunch spot. The decor is made out of lots of organic materials such as wood, plenty of flowers and plants can be seen throughout the restaurants, and the service is very pleasant. The menu is ever-evolving but some of my all-time favourites are the miso glazed aubergine (so rich in flavour and totally delicious), Couliflower as a side which comes with tahini dressing and some pomegranate seeds and you must try the Tortillas as a main, you can make them vegan without the goats cheese! Tortilla’s come with two fillings of sweet potato, sweetcorn, chilli, lime and coriander; and the other one was of baked beetroot, parsley, served with guacamole and black bean pepper salsa – oh wow, they were something else, but the sweet potato one was terrific. Overall I enjoyed my experience and would be back to try more dishes, as the menu is always changing. Great place to go for carnivores who are opened to trying vegetarian and vegan cuisines.

Mellow Mushroom opened in 1974 when three college students founded a business that reflected their eccentric philosophies. They saw pizza baking as an art form, and wanted to bring joy to others by perfecting the art of pizza. The first store was created out of an old liquor store on Spring Street near Georgia Tech. To accommodate the long lines and gaining popularity, more Mellow Mushrooms sprung up around Atlanta. By the late 80’s, they opened their first franchise to an existing employee, followed by customer-owned franchises, and then to friends of employees and customers. One by one, the stores sprung up, built on a good idea and a great pizza pie. As our reputation for a great stone baked pizza grew, so did we, and it continues to this day. For 37 years, Mellow Mushroom Pizza Bakers has been serving up fresh stone baked pizzas to-order in an eclectic, art-filled and family-friendly environment. Each Mellow is locally-owned and operated with a unique feel focused around customer service and high quality food.

In Japanese, our name means ‘naughty child’, or ‘one who is wilful and determined’ A good example of that determination is the art of ‘kaizen’, meaning ‘good change’. This philosophy sits right at our heart. It shapes every dish we create, and pushes us to find better ways in all that we do. We’re restless spirits. forever creating and making things better. We’ve been practising kaizen since 1992, when we opened our first doors in london’s bloomsbury. Inspired by fast-paced, Japanese ramen bars and a celebration of asian food, Wagamama burst into life. We set out to create a unique way of eating. Bringing the fresh, nourishing, flavours of Asia to all. That was 20 years ago now. two whole decades to sharpen skills and refine recipes. to play with spices and discover tastes. we continue to get better with every day. Wagamama has a separate allergens list and modifications menu, which you can look at on request. The allergens menu and the modifications menu list what is already vegan, and what can be modified (and how) to make it vegan.
