1 Review on “Pogona Baking Company”
I’ve been watching Pogona Baking Co from afar since I became aware of them (thanks, social media!), and knew I had to try them out the next time I visited home. If I understand correctly, they fill custom orders as well as sell their baked goods at local farmer’s markets and pop-up events, and have recently found a more permanent retail location in The District at Mills 50, a new co-op space in Orlando. The District is where I tracked them down.
I got lucky and visited on a Sunday, so I got to sample their weekend doughnut selection, in addition to some other tasty things. The doughnuts were fried up to perfection with just the right amount of residual oil that lets you know you’re really indulging. I sampled the blueberry knot with a flavorful blueberry filling, a tropical glazed doughnut (I want to say pineapple-mango, but don’t quote me on that), and a cinnamon-sugar tossed knot that tasted like a delicious fritter you’d get from a county fair. I also sampled one of their cut-out iced sugar cookies (they donate $0.25 from each sugar cookie sale to a different organization each month), and some mini meringues! Everything was incredibly delicious.
I hope Pogona Baking Co continues to grow and share their delicious and cruelty-free baked goods throughout Central Florida!
