    Hi everyone!
My name is Emma, and I’m a Toronto high school student and animal rights activist. I am part of a philosophy and anthropology course at my school, and we have just been assigned a large project which should be an inquiry into a bio-ethical issue that pertains to me, personally. I immediately thought — aha! animal rights! I have…[Read more]

    • That’s so cool! I’m a philosophy minor and every time we get to pick our topic in ethics, I always pick animal rights!

It was super rainy at the D.C. VegFest last weekend, but I had a great time regardless!

  • Dear Vegan Travel Brothers & Sisters,

To challenge myself in my 65th year (21 as a vegan), I plan to summit Mt. Kilimanjaro on March 1, 2018.

To join me on this quest, I’ve been recruiting a compatible group of very fit vegan adventurers. Besides fulfilling personal goals, this will be an opportunity to promote to the world what can be a…[Read more]

    • Sounds like a wonderful goal, and a very exciting experience you have ahead of you. I’m looking forward to hearing more about your upcoming Kilimanjaro adventure.

Hi! We’re about ten people (and a dog!) planning for a ski- and/or winter trip, somewhere in the french alps or countries nearby, for a week in early january, Is it someone here that has been somewhere vegan friendly around there? seems a little difficult to find something both ski-,vegan-, and dog friendly in those areas – but hopefully we’ve…[Read more]

    • Sounds like you are going to have an amazing time! I haven’t skied the Alps yet, but I thought of a couple of general tips if you run into difficulties finding vegan options. We have had a lot of success in asking the chefs in the restaurants if they could make something special for us. And the other suggestion is there are lots of quick & easy…[Read more]

    • Thanks for answer! 🙂 agree about that asking the restaurants use to be a great idea! some in the group dont want to eat in a place where meat is served to any other guest either though, So probably we’ll go for cooking together, if we do not find any 100% vegan place around. Thank you, have a nice weekend 🙂

    • I’ve skied around Switzerland and France… the chance of finding 100% vegan places is very small… the best best would be to rent somewhere with a kitchen so you can cook. Big cities on your way in/out of the alps will be easier to find places. What area are you looking at??

    • Thanks 🙂 🙂 Ah, I see.. M, I guess we’ll end up renting some cabin or similar like that 🙂 at the moment we’re looking for places in Andorra, a few people in the group knew about some great places for snow etc around there in january. But, we’re pretty open to what location it will be, so maybe Switzerland could be an option as well. At what time…[Read more]

      • I lived in France/Switzerland for 2 years, and I’ve visited since then in Feb/March. Most places have decent snow by the end of January. I’ve never been down to the Andorra region, but I’d love to visit there!

Major cities like Geneva, Zurich, Lyon will all have veg options, but once you’re in the mountains, places can accommodate vegans, like…[Read more]

  • Happy Labour Day everyone!!

It has been at least 6 years since I (Giselle) have enjoyed a Caesar and damn, I forgot how good they are!

This one is of course made with Vegan Caesar mix from Simp’s Syrups from Kelowna, BC.

I’ve been having virgin and gin ceasers all weekend! Almost running out, but not quite.

Sadly Summer is starting to come…[Read more]

Hi! I\’m going to move for a few months to Nairobi, Kenya, so do you have any tips for living vegan there? I\’m especially interested in local food that can be \”traditionally\” vegan or vegan-friendly but not fancy restaurants. Of course, do not feel limited by these two categories.

Moved out of my apartment today 😮 I\’m subletting for two months as I travel around 🙂 going to be interesting!!

I got very sick – but I still managed to hit up our favorite Gelato place for one of their FOUR vegan flavors and had some Chapati at our work cafeteria!

Do you ever bake things when you’re bored? I made these vegan peanut butter cookies a few weekends ago and it was totally worth turning on the oven on a hot day!

    • All the time… terrible habit… I make all these delicious things and then have to eat them 😉

I’ve had an amazing few days in Bogotá!!!! Can’t wait to share everything I did… here are a few (maybe sideways, they’re from my phone) pics to tide you over. Currently waiting in the airport to board my first flight of the loooooooooong journey home.

    • That view of the city is so neat! One of these days I’ll make it to South America 🙂

It never clicked that it’s so close! Bogota is only 3 hrs from Miami!
