Heading north in 2 weeks to drive around the Gold Coast, the Sunshine Coast and up to Hervey Bay. Keen to find some treasures I haven’t discovered in Queensland yet. Any suggestions?

  • I got to go “behind the scenes yesterday at Cafe Madison in Albany, NY. One of their sous chefs showed me how they make their breakfast sandwich and THIS French Toast. Yumz! It’s a pretty solid brunch spot with a small vegan menu, so that’s cool.

Today’s gloom would be much better if it came with a vegan Sticky Bun from Vegan Treats at Grindcore House.

  • Has anyone tried the Hampton Creek vegan cookie dough yet? It’s delicious (raw spoonfuls) AND as baked cookies. Good luck getting to the baking part because it’s hard to NOT eat from the jar! Haha! 🙂 …. In related news, after 8 months abroad and little access to a proper kitchen I was stoked to bake these (even if they aren’t from scratch).…[Read more]

    • Ready-made vegan cookie dough is a dangerous game for me, haha. Rarely do I ever bake anything from those tubs, and I’m not mad about it! Have you tried the Birthday Cake variety from Hampton Creek yet?

    • Those cookies are my weakness, I love the Birthday Cake one especially!

    • between hampton creek and eat pastry it’s a wonder I don’t weight 500 lbs! The only saving grace is that they’re harder to find in Canada…

  • Howdy, everybody! Ya girl is in the south! I’m spending about a week in Nashville, Tennessee eating everything vegan I can find. So far, I have two vegan maple doughnuts staring at me in a box, I’m drinking a delicious pecan hemp latte at the cutest coffee shop, and I flew in and surprised my boyfriend at a completely vegan restaurant. I kinda…[Read more]

    • How fun! Did you check out The Wild Cow?

    • Woahh pecan hemp latte sounds amazing!! I’d be curious to hear more about what Nashville has to offer for the vegan crowd.

    • Are you in Fido by any chance??
I’ve heard there are tons of new places since I lived there… the Grins cafe on Vanderbilt campus is really good, if not an obvious choice. Oh and there was a little bakery/cafe just around the corner from wild cow, but the name escapes me… Avo was good the last time I was there… Oh and if it’s a nice day, try…[Read more]

Vietnam is SO vegan friendly!! Check out our TOP VEG restaurants our favorite Vietnamese city… Hoi An! 🙂

  • Yep, THIS is vegan!!!! Can you believe it?! Haha! I asked one of the owners of Berben & Wolff’s Vegan Delicatessen (in Albany, NY) to create a massive, greasy, drippy, meaty-looking burger for a video I’m working on (for Farm Animal Rights Movement) and they totally nailed it! Being vegan is so easy these days – you can even get the junkiest of…[Read more]

SANTORINI & Mykonos. We will be \”flying\” over from ATHENS on our vacation in mid-early May. How does one completely AVOID seeing the donkeys & mules? Also, any newer modern hotels/boutiques (no pets, children or smoking) anyone has stayed at on either island? Is it true the stray dog & cat population is rampant in Athens? Thank you!

    • Hey Lori! I’ve been to Santorini, and I have to say, it is nearly, if not completely, impossible to avoid seeing any donkeys or mules. Unfortunately no matter where in the world one goes, animal cruelty follows. However, if you’d like to help offset other tourists’ impact on their lives, they do have a donkey sanctuary in Santorini that you could…[Read more]

      • Hi Michelle, WOW! Thank you so much for your quick response. Yes, we plan to fly in so we can avoid the cable cars and donkeys. You’re saying OIA is the most recommended where you still have beautiful views and nice hotels. Ughhh with the dogs, tho. I did see the info somewhere else about the donkey sanctuaries. Since we will only be there…[Read more]

I had the chance to finally check out Vegan Treats the other day! I’ve been visiting Philadelphia this week which is about an hour and a half away from Bethlehem, and it is absolutely worth the trip. I tried one of their little cakes (chocolate with cookie dough on top) and some of their incredible soft serve. Have you been to this spot…[Read more]

I don’t know how you walked out of there without one of everything!

    • I ordered an easter box from them once… it didn’t last very long… their twix bars are even better than the real thing!

      • Oh nice! They had a ton of their easter sweets on display, I totally wish I would’ve gotten one!

  • For the ones traveling to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I\’ve just made a list of the best vegan restaurants in my home town.

I’m in the us for 5 months and was thinking of maybe visiting Portland during Easter.
Unfortunately I don’t have anyone to travel with so I was wondering if anyone’s got any advice on things to do there, how to get around etc.

    • Portland is such a fun and vegan friendly city, you will have an amazing time there! I’m not from PDX, but when I visited with VeganTravel last June I found it really easy to get around, and used a combination of Lyft, public transportation, and a whole lot of walking to see (and taste!) all of the things I wanted to.

      @shannon wrote a great blog…[Read more]

  • We have arrived in Kuala Lumpur for an unexpected visa run from Thailand.

Our visas were up on a Sunday and immigration is closed on Sundays, so we didn’t want to risk the fine or worst-being blacklisted from Thailand for a few years, so we hopped on a flight to KL for a few days.

If you need us, we’ll just be catching up on some work, eating…[Read more]
