1 Review on “Sweet Freedom Bakery”
I’ve been wanting to check out Sweet Freedom Bakery since I first heard about it. Everything here is entirely gluten-free and vegan (so it’s also dairy-free and egg-free), but I also found out that it’s all corn-free, peanut-free and soy-free. I’m not sure if this place caters to vegans more than it does to people with food allergens, but I’m happy to support a vegan bakery nonetheless.
When I visited this spot on a weekday afternoon, they were sold out of a lot of things which makes me think that this is a pretty popular spot. They did have cupcakes that were calling my eye (a Chocolate Salted Caramel and a Vanilla Green Tea option), so we ordered two to go. Prices were a little steep at around $8 for two cupcakes, but I had high hopes for them.
I’m not entirely sure what kind of ingredients they use here for their flour and binders, but the cupcakes we ordered definitely tasted “allergen-friendly”. The overall flavor on the chocolate cupcake wasn’t bad, although the Vanilla Green Tea one had a texture and flavor that was slightly reminiscent of play-doh. If I came back to this spot I’d probably try something other than the cupcakes, like maybe their cookies, bars or donuts.
