Great Sage is one of the best vegan restaurants I’ve ever been to, and that’s saying a lot. What makes it so wonderful is how inventive the menu is. Yes, they do have a lot of remakes of all one’s old omni favourites, but they also come up with amazing items that I never thought were possible. The Chai tea milkshake, for example, is a gem.
The restaurant is also conveniently located in the “Conscious Corner,” an area of Clarksville, MD, that has a Roots market, Bark! pawsitve petfood, and a Nest’s earth friendly clothing store. It’s like a little piece of Vegan Heaven in the middle of nowhere.
I do suggest, however, that you bring all your birthday money to Great Sage as it can get a bit expensive if you’re getting a three course meal.
Great Sage is tucked away in Clarkseville’s Conscious Corner, along with a health food store, an eco-friendly clothing and trinket store, and even a treat and supplement store for your animal companions. So, visiting can be a bit of a fun event.
We went around lunchtime, so my experience was with the lunch menu. There’s quite a bit f variety in the menu. In the end I went for the sabrosa bowl, and I do not regret it! The food was very flavoursome, felt healthy, and was filling. I tried a bit of other things at the table, including the buffalo cauliflower, French onion burger, and mac and cheese. Everything I tried was very tasty. There seemed to be a lot of care gone into each dish. I followed this with a split of two desserts. My suggestion is the apple tart.
