WaterCourse Foods is Denver’s original vegan restaurant since 1998. Our style of vegan comfort food has won over the hearts and stomachs of people from all types of dietary backgrounds. The greatest compliment we hear (and we hear it often) is when an initially reluctant patron says that they never thought they would eat vegan food, and now WaterCourse is their favorite restaurant.
WaterCourse Food’s philosophy, like our food, is simple and accessible. We work to create an atmosphere that welcomes everyone. We prepare fresh ingredients daily to produce incredibly satisfying vegan comfort foods in a welcoming environment served by a friendly and efficient wait staff for a reasonable price. By maintaining a completely vegan menu, we believe we minimize our environmental footprint and provide a welcome alternative to many restaurants in the city.
In addition to the food we serve and vendors we choose, WaterCourse Foods is dedicated to reducing our negative environmental impact by recycling everything we can, and our to-go containers are completely biodegradable.

Best vegan restaurant in Denver, hands down. I’ve traveled a lot and have tried vegan restaurants in many cities. Watercourse is on the very top of my list. My favorite dish is the cauliflower wings. So delicious. I truly appreciate when a restaurant gets creative with vegetables as opposed to relying solely on meat substitutes.
I always enjoy going to WaterCourse, and would suggest it to anyone visiting Denver. I’ve definitely noticed some of the changes after the restaurant changed owners (mourning the loss of the tofu chick’n and waffles, rip), but a lot of my favorite dishes made it through, and some lovely new things arrived on the menu as well.
Most of my reviews mention this, but I can’t get enough breakfast food, and WaterCourse is a place serving it up all day long, which earns big points with me. I like their hashes and breakfast sampler plates that allow for a good combo of sweet and savory. Pictured is the Beet Wellington (only served after 5pm, heads up) that was so good.
The only thing I’ve ordered that really wasn’t for me was the Charcuterie Plate. It was lacking in any exciting flavor, and left something to be desired, especially for the price. Definitely try the shishito peppers when you’re there– they’re a new menu item since the ownership shift that really blew my mind!
