Making people happy by offering fresh and wholesome Lebanese food. Nuba’s Lebanese style taverna in Kitsilano, is in the space formerly occupied by the legendary Greek Taverna Orestes. The walls still speak of a time of glory when woody restaurants and bars flourished in Kitsilano. Unchecked by fashion, Nuba in Kitsilano is a Lebanese taverna, like one might have visited back in the days before the civil war, somewhere along Lebanon’s stretch of Mediterranean coastline, in towns like Jounieh or Sour. The cavernous complexity of the restaurant’s interior unfolds over multiple levels through small, low-ceilinged nooks, and up and down numerous staircases. These enigmatic rooms open out around an expansive glass-covered courtyard inhabited with plants and benches. The overall effect produced by the scale and geography of the space has earned it the pet name “Nuba Village”. …. CATERING BY NUBA Throwing and Event, Party or Gathering? Nuba now does catering. Hello my name is Mandy and I am the owner of FDD. I developed my company based on the principal idea that eating vegan food should not be a sacrifice… it can be a Frickin’ Delight! Motivated by a lack of options in the food industry for the vegan consumer, I set out to create a recipe for everyone to enjoy. I achieved in making delicious cake donuts that are hand crafted with quality ingredients and delivered to you at your request. In my donuts you will find real fruit, no artificial flavouring and no preservatives. My donuts are made fresh daily. By doing this I bring you real flavour and freshness that you will experience in the first bite. My flavors vary from the classic old fashioned to the exotic gourmet. I look forward to bringing my delicious creations into your homes, offices and special events for you to share and enjoy.

Being vegetarian is more than a lifestyle. It can also be a window through which great things can be seen from the small. It enables one to become more aware of one’s body, mind, and the environment in which one lives.Practicing vegetarianism can bring one both a healthy body and a healthy mind. We do not use any meat, rather our mock meat is made out of soy bean products such as T.V.P. & fresh bean curd. Based on Buddha’s 5 doctrines, the 5 pungent plants are prohibited: garlic, onions, chives, leeks and shallots.

Bunner’s Bakeshop was started by Ashley Wittig and Kevin MacAllister – two entrepreneurs who saw the need in Toronto for a bakery that caters to those with food sensitivities and allergies AND tastes just like traditional baked goods. No compromises. After a summer of testing Ash’s creations at a local farmer’s market and watching their fan base grow by the week, they started looking for a bricks and mortar location. With a shoe-string budget, some first class haggling over rent and equipment, and a whole lot of moxy and elbow grease they opened their first retail location on Dec. 11 2010. Once it got out that you could buy piping hot GF & V bread, cinnamon buns and muffins baked fresh daily, customers took it upon themselves to spread the word and Bunner’s grew from a few friends to a big family. Bunner’s currently has two retail locations, a cook book published by Harper Collins in Canada and the USA, and employs a staff of more then 20 of the most awesome bakers and customer service reps you’ll ever meet!

Our food is inspired and prepared according to the Ontario growing season, so our market menu changes depending on what is available from our local farmers. We use all vegan and mainly raw ingredients and choose organic wherever possible. We offer a savoury menu full of fresh, plant-based produce from various Ontario farms, seasoned and spiced with bright, rich flavors. Our sweet menu consists of raw nuts, seeds, fresh and dried fruits and natural sweeteners such as agave nectar, maple syrup and honey. Our drink menu is made up of smoothies, fresh juices, and lemonades. We dehydrate, blend, chop, grate, soak, roast, boil, sprout and mix our ingredients, all of which add to the variety and uniqueness of our food. Above all, we aspire to make simply delicious and healthful food, the same kind of food we love to eat and enjoy.
