Hermans Vegetarian Restaurant and Café. We are beautifully located at Södermalm with a view that is one of the best in whole Stockholm. You can see the old city, Djurgården and the sea beneath us. We have a large selection of rawfood desserts as well as raw food ice cream. During the summerseason June-end of August the garden is open with 350 seats. You can take a nap in one of the hammocks, eat from the BBQ that we have everyday on rainfree evenings from 5pm-9pm. On Saturdays we have live bossanova music with free admission from 7pm. We want to promote vegetarian food as something fun and cool rather than the vegetarian food that most other restaurants may offer. Lao Wai is a Chinese-vegan vegetarian restaurant. Their menu is primarily inspired by the genuine Sichuanese and Taiwanese kitchens. Their careful selections of basic and complementary ingredients together with our preparation methods are designed to please the palates of even non-vegetarians! Their food contains no eggs or dairy products. They use those ingredients which should be used in Chinese cooking and refrain from all inferior substitutes. For example we use spring onions instead of leeks, dried chili peppers for “gong bao” in place of chili sauce, fresh garlic and ginger rather than powders, rice wine instead of sherry, and so on. They grind our own spices and roast our own nuts and seeds. All sauces are prepared on the spot. Powder or prepackaged sauces are never used. They do not use MSG. Only fresh vegetables are brought into their kitchen. Fresh spring onions, baby corn, coriander, morning-glory, sweet basil, asparagus, long bean, water chestnuts, Chinese broccoli, taro, lotus root, and Chinese celery for example, are flown in regularly from the Far East. They do not use any canned goods. They use fresh organic tofu in all our tofu dishes. Tofu, also known as bean curd, is a very nutritious product made by curdling soybean milk. They feature soft, firm, pressed, and smoked tofu in our dishes. For their soy protein dishes we use only GMO-free soy products from Japan and Taiwan. These products come in various shapes and flavors, but are used mainly for their texture to complement the vegetables and mushrooms. Both fresh and dried mushrooms are used frequently in their dishes: shiitake, forest mushrooms, champignons, oyster mushrooms, chanterelles (in season), cloud ears, and golden needle mushrooms. All their dishes are served with jasmine rice of the very best quality. They make our rice often and in smaller quantities to ensure that it is always fresh. Everyone is happy to avoid “tired” rice. They flavor our dishes with light, dark, and sweet soy sauce, fresh and dried chilies, chili bean paste, rice wine, Sichuan pepper, 5-spice, sesame oil, homemade chili-, herb-, and spice oils, black fermented beans, and plenty of ginger, garlic, and spring onions. All their food is prepared with respect and with attentive care, in a wok. Nothing is made ahead of time and then reheated. Each dish is made to order. To attain maximum freshness certain ingredients are even cut, shredded, and chopped only after the order has been taken. We stir-fry in pure vegetable oil.
Farang’s food is based on fresh ingredients, professional skills, handcrafted dishes and solid experience working with Southeast Asian cuisine. We prepare everything in the restaurant’s own kitchen where no short cuts are taken. We put our heart and soul into everything we do in order to create fresh and intensive flavors. We prefer organic ingredients sourced from local producers. The flavors are mainly produced using herbs and vegetables, which also creates a strong base for vegetarian dishes. Above all, Farang’s food is based on aromas and the harmony of hot, sour, salty and sweet tastes. Aromatic broths and curries are also important elements in our dishes. Farang’s Southeast Asian way of eating is all about being social and sharing the food. Our aim is to create excellent food, a good atmosphere and an overall relaxing environment.
Falafel restaurant in the Södermalm section of Stockholm with indoor and outdoor tables. Offers falafel sandwiches in pita bread and falafel plates with salad, humus, and tahini, eggplant and red cabbage prepared to order. Almost all their dishes are vegan, and everything is vegetarian. All sauces and several dishes are gluten and lactose free. Det som började som en manifestation för mer och bättre street food i Stockholm sommaren 2012, på en blå lådcykel, slutade med Stockholms första (och hittills enda) falafelbar på Hornsgatan 39. På Falafelbaren serveras nyfriterad falafel i pitabröd med traditionella tillbehör som syrad rödkål, pickles, tomat, gurka och tahinisås. Förutom falafel serverar vi hemlagad börek med spenat- och fetaostfyllning tillsammans med våra goda sallader och röror, samt fool som är en klassisk arabisk bönrätt med persilja, citron och ägg. Allt tillreds på beställning, så ibland kommer du under lunchrusningen och vid middagstid få vänta några minuter längre än under andra tider. Allt går naturligtvis att ta med och vi tar emot beställningar på luncher, cateringar och event, då vi kommer med vår cykel och friterar falafel på plats! De flesta av våra rätter är veganska, allt är vegetariskt. Alla såser och flera rätter är gluten- och laktosfria. I januari 2014 blev vi nominerade till DN På Stans Gulddraken i kategorin Budget! Their concept is to serve good homemade vegetarian / vegan food to suit everyone at a reasonable price. They offer gluten, lactose and nötfria dishes, and are committed to making their dishes as ecological as possible.
Vegetarian restaurant with mostly vegan options in the Södermalm section of Stockholm. You order a meal and then get salad, bread, and coffee. Be careful on the bread and the coffee – when we were their the bread was no vegan, and they had milk for the coffee – but they will give you soy milk upon request.
