• Everyone wants to see the elephants when visiting Thailand. But unfortunately many also want to ride them without thinking twice on how that impacts the animal. We are so grateful to have had the opportunity to volunteer at Elephant Jungle Sanctuary in Chiang Mai and be a part of an organization that cares for the well being of these amazing…[Read more]

  • Happy Thanksgiving! We cooked up 7 courses of vegan Thai deliciousness. I learned how to make spring rolls, papaya salad, pad Thai, red curry, Thai herb soup, Mango sticky rice!

  • Long story short, our villa neighbors in Bali invited us over to their place after we accidentally walked in thinking it was ours. We ended up hanging out with them for the next three days, surfing and scootin’ around the island, and it wasn’t until the last day that we found out they were Third Eye Blind. Fast forward to last night, after getting…[Read more]

    • How cool is that? And what a great stroke of luck! I’m so happy for both of you. 🙂

  • Not Thursday BUT throwing it back to day 1 of our 6-month around the world trip! Time is FLYING by! Ahhhh!

  • Favorite part of Bali so far has been visiting the Monkey Forest Sanctuary in Ubud. Wild monkeys running around, eating bananas, papaya, sweet potato, and corn. Mischievous little boogers tried to break into my bookbag but I had it locked up tight! They did get their hands on our bug spray though (natural essential oil stuff, thankfully)! I loved…[Read more]

  • Ah I love the idea of throwback Thursday!! Anytime I\’m on a plane/train/bus and my laptop has died and im always going through old photos on my phone 🙂 can\’t wait to share some of my favorite throwbacks!

  • One of my favorite things in the world is sunrise. Nobody is awake yet. There’s a calm chill in the air. It’s beautifully still unlike any other time of day. Something is so awe inspiring about sunrise.
I am absolutely amazing by the fact that this morning we saw sunrise first before anyone else in the world in New Zealand. Whaaaaat? This is too…[Read more]

    • Amazed*

    • @lifestylewithme, you are so inspiring for pointing this out. imho; we all need to make sure we take time to kick back, and soak in a good sunrise or sunset from time to time 🙂

    • I don’t think high school Jaclyn (who went to bed just before sunrise and slept until mid-afternoon every chance she got) could have guessed how much almost-30s Jaclyn would enjoy mornings! Starting out on a run when it’s just barely dark still, and seeing all of those colors start to radiate as the sun comes up is so awesome!!

Recently got a Tep wireless for emergency situations where we have no wifi to connect to! It’s a cool little device that creates a wifi hotspot for your devices from a 3G connection so you can have internet anywhere you go. Shae and I have been sharing it since it connects to up to 5 devices. It’s already come in handy when lost in Sri Lanka…[Read more]

  • Ahhhh! We made it to Auckland, NZ!
We went and explored the cliffsides of Muriwai beach and came across beautiful birds nesting with their lil baby eggs! It was the Muriwai Gannet Colony. See all the white dots in the background? Those are all BIRDS! So fascinating!

  • Shae and I made it to Sydney Australia! Day one and we’ve already hit up 4 vegan restaurants (ate at two of them) and we are in LOVE

  • @heyshae and I arrived in Sri Lanka after the most interesting 9 hour journey to get here.

Up at 3am for our flight from Dubai, we get to the airport to find out that we must have a flight ticket already booked out of Sri Lanka in order to get into the country. What would be a usual problem (since we often book flights last minute) was actually…[Read more]

  • Made it to Dubai! And of course the first thing I hunted down was the nearest running track! The path’s surface is a soft running track which I love (second best to a trail run through nature).
Excited to knock another country off my running bucket list!

  • We made it to Santorini!! Started off with a nice 3 hour hike from Fira to Oia.
    So beautiful!

Has anyone here ever been to Vietnam? We are looking into visas and I believe we are eligible for Visa on arrival but not sure if we still have to fill out any sort of application beforehand

    • Hey @lifestylewithme
As an American citizen you can apply for a VOA online through a tour agent. You will then get the paperwork sent to you and you will show it to the Vietnamese passport control when arriving.

This is the best post online for everything you may need.…[Read more]

    Toilet Travel Tip!

If you have to “go” while you’re out and about exploring and cannot find a free or clean public restroom, find the nearest hotel.
Walk in like you own the place, B-line it down a hallway or somewhere away from the receptionist, and eventually you will find yourself a toilet.
This has saved me and Shae many times and it’s…[Read more]

  • HELLO WORLD!
Long time no update 🙂 Shae and I had the most incredible weekend exploring the countryside of southern Croatia.

We started off with an off-roading adventure with Konalve Safari that quickly turned into a “Vegan Safari”–stopping every few minutes at a new tree to pick different fruits. Incredible!

Then we stayed in a treehouse…[Read more]

  • Look at this incredible view from our Air Bnb!

We just arrived in Dubrovnik, Croatia! Completely mesmerized by the beauty.

  • Shae and I spent yesterday at the Italian Horse Protection Onlus in Tuscany.

This is a wonderful organization that rescues abused and mistreated horses from equestrian competitions, illegal racing, riding schools, tourist carriages, circuses, and even slaughter for horse meat. They support and promote action to better the lives of these…[Read more]
