Some more Sunshine State throwbacks this week, marveling in the native flora and the interesting, uh, birds they have there ๐Ÿ˜‰

That one time in Kalaw, Myanmar, when a monk invited me into his home to take a photo of him.

If you ever get a chance to visit this amazing country…..DO IT!!!

Ever since I experienced the wonders of the Northern Lights in Tromsรธ, Norway a few years ago, I have been longing to go back. And I had been planning to do just that this March, but last minute my plans changed so instead of -30C, I’m traveling in +30C weather today! ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Wow, that photo is so beautiful. What an amazing experience.

    • I saw the northern lights in Iceland, but it wasn’t clear enough to get pictures… that’s amazing!

      • I saw them in Iceland too! Once from the plane on the way there and the other time we went on a drive to find them ๐Ÿ™‚

      • I highly recommend late autumn or early spring in Tromsรธ, Norway. From Tromsรธ it’s an easy drive to several picturesque sites along the coast or over the mountains to Finnish lapland. Norway gets the Gulf Stream, so their winters are 10-15C warmer then they would otherwise be, so it is one of the more comfortable places to view the Northern L…[Read more]

Some favorites from The City Beautiful last week for today’s Throwback

    • Is that second photo a S’mores bar??

      • YES. My sister thought the cookie part was a little on the salty side, but it balanced the sweetness of the chocolate and marshmallow so well! I loved it!

    • That salad looks amazing! Love me some Avocado ๐Ÿ™‚

      • It was awesome! A sushi bowl with brown rice and sweet potato hiding underneath all of that other fresh and yummy goodness. Avocado forever!

    • If you could just pack that up and mail it to me, that’d be great… ๐Ÿ˜‰

      • The 6.5hr drive up from Key West when you’re there would be totally worth it, I’m just sayin’ ๐Ÿ˜€

        • We are driving the keys… flying in/out of ft lauderdale… not quite orlando…

          • Haha, nope, not quite at all. Another time, perhaps! Did I mention there’s a new all vegan donut shop that serves donut ice cream sandwiches? ๐Ÿ˜‰

Throwback to some colorful buildings around Berlin, Germany – one of my favorite cities I’ve ever visited!

Two years ago from today, I was visiting my hometown for the Natural Products Expo West trade show. Unfortunately I’m missing out on it this year but it was a blast the last time I went, and so many great vegan companies were there. I brought so many samples home too!

    • I love that we were both there the same year, but our paths hadn’t crossed yet in life (and how could they have — that is a MASSIVE trade show!)

Throwing it back to an overcast day spent in Franklin Square in Philly a couple of years ago with a dear friend of mine, who was one of my greatest influences when I first decided to go vegan! I’m especially excited because I’m flying down to Orlando tonight, and will be reuniting with this friend at Disney (of all places) to romp around more…[Read more]

Totally forgot to post this yesterday, but here’s my Throwback to Vegas when we visited Venice and Paris all in one day.

Some cities you immediately gel with, and others are a little more of a struggle. My first time in Vegas last week didn’t give me the “I could see myself here” vibe, but I had a great time enjoying the kitsch and chaos of it all (and the vegan donuts were on point, lemme tell ya)

In 2011 I traveled with my father and my kids on a road trip around his native home of Morocco. Today, I found myself reminiscing about our time walking around some of the souks and medinas we visited in Rabat, Casablanca, Marrakesh, and Essaouira.

    • Everything is so colorful! I bet even more so in person ๐Ÿ™‚

      • It really is. So much of what makes Morocco so special, are the beautiful colors, designs, and textures you see everywhere from their narrow markets, to their building & home designs, to their colorful traditional clothing. And the tastes of some of their local grown vine ripened produce, with some those spices on top of couscous, alone is a treat…[Read more]

    • That’s so funny, I was just looking for flights to go back to Morocco during the summer!

    • The photo of the spices is soooo aesthetically satisfying.

      • I’m so excited for you Michelle! Your going to have such an incredible time!

      • Hey Ellie, when in the hands of a knowledgeable Moroccan cook, they taste even better than they look aesthetically ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Oh man, how incredibly beautiful! Morocco is one place that I would love to visit!

Daydreaming about some of the great vegan eats I had in Orlando last October, and how excited I am to pay these tasty treats another visit when I’m there a few weeks from now! Vegan Brunchwrap from Leguminati, and some Valhalla Bakery donuts to wash it down ;-)…[Read more]

Happy throwback! Today’s sunny weather in Denver is reminding me of the time I got to hang out with the VeganTravel team in Venice Beach!

  • Throwback Thursday to the time @mindfulwanderlust and I travelled Mexico.

  • Just a dreamy shot of dusk in Munich from last summer for today’s Throwback ๐Ÿ™‚

Here’s a throwback to some vegan pancakes I enjoyed with my mom at lunch last weekend at Watercourse Foods in Denver, CO. My mom has been vegan now for over two years and I couldn’t be more proud of her!

This week’s throwback is to my first time in Philly back in Oct 2015, goofin’ around on a gloomy evening in front of Independence Hall ๐Ÿ™‚
