Accommodations in Shela

A yoga center and guest house tucked away in Shela on Lamu Island. With the owner being vegetarian, vegans are also easily accommodated by their culinary team. The Tower is named after Fatuma Abu Bakar a Swahili noblewoman who lived in this sanctuary until the end of the 19th century. Serendipitously, one of the yoga teachers at Fatuma’s Tower is a descendant of the property’s namesake.

Family-owned eco-lodge and beachfront restaurant on Manda Island that runs on solar power and captured rainwater. On Fridays, Diamond Beach hosts a Yoga, Pizza, and Movie night attended by both locals and visitors. Vegans are easily accommodated here.
