4 Reviews on “VegeNation”
If you’re ever in Vegas THIS is the place for vegan meals. They’ve got everything from (fantastic) breakfast to late dinner and dessert; open early too. Plus, it’s currently the only place to get a fully vegan breakfast in Vegas.
Not only is the food great but the staff and customer relationship management is incredible. I’ve never felt so taken care of before. *AND* the ambiance is adorable; the attention to detail in everything from the look of the menu to their social media is consistent and super cute.
Highly recommend this place!
If you make a stop into VegeNation, definitely come for brunch! Their French toast is amazing and I really enjoyed their Food Not Bombs Bowl. Their starters are also really good, especially the cheese plate (showcasing a local company to Las Vegas) and vegan sushi. I LOVED their desserts, from the chocolate tacos to the brownie sundae which came with some of the best vegan ice cream I tried in Vegas.
The restaurant has a beautiful ambience thanks to a wall of plants and artwork from a local artist. The windows offer great lighting for breakfast (which is also excellent for food photos), and there is a huge community table that makes you feel not as alone if you’re dining here by yourself.
I love the sense of community engagement that VegeNation has. Sometimes they have pop-ups or local musicians and DJ’s play here, and they are incredibly devoted to important causes from veganism to women’s rights and more.
VegeNation is a beautiful space encouraging wonderful programming and growth in the Downtown Las Vegas community. They host workshops, yoga events, open mic nights, and did I mention that they are 100% vegan, offering breakfast daily, weekend brunch, and lunch/dinner food with an eclectic array of cuisines?
We ate at VegeNation twice while we were in Vegas, once for dinner, and again for brunch. Read any of my other reviews on this site and you’ll know that I am a sucker for brunch, and that was my favorite of the two meals we had there. We sat at the community table next to their living wall (gorgeous greenery everywhere), and enjoyed a slow-paced meal. I liked that they served coffee orders in little individual french presses, and I had a nice scramble with tortillas and potatoes.
My favorite items we ordered during dinner were the starters and the desserts. My entree was one of their pop-ups, which are daily rotating specials that always sound interesting. Unfortunately I wasn’t a big fan of the pop-up I got. It was a sweet potato ravioli with a cashew cream sauce, but the filling was too sweet and seasoned more like a pumpkin pie than a savory entree. But, that’s the risk you take with specials– some are hits, and some are misses. The cheese plate was amazing, with cheeses made by a local company (Virgin Cheese), and they did a great job with the buffalo cauliflower wings and the steamed dumplings. I also loved the tiramisu, dessert tacos, and the brownie ice cream sundae we tried for dessert!
VegeNation is popular, and I understand why. They are worth your time if you are traveling through Vegas.
Vegenation is our new favorite hidden vegan gem in Las Vegas. We haven’t really ventured too far off the strip in the past, but since we were staying North of the strip, this restaurant was right on the way home as it is a couple blocks from Downtown / Fremont Street. It has a great atmosphere, with an awesome green / living wall and some great art on the walls. We walked in and were able to be seated right away and the staff were all super friendly.
We definitely recommend Vegenation as it is a great combination of good food and good prices. We ate here and picked up food at least 3 or 4 times while we were in Las Vegas. Definitely don’t miss this spot!
What we ordered
Buffalo Cauliflower Wings- Homemade hot & spicy buffalo sauce covered cauliflower with a side of ranch dressing. If you’ve been keeping up with our adventures, you know that buffalo anything is a guaranteed order. These are some of the best buffalo cauliflower wings we’ve had and could easily be in our top 3 so far. The breading on these were damn near perfect and the sauce was a great flavor, but mild, buffalo sauce. Something that Hayden definitely appreciates! The ranch was super thin and watery but had good flavor. Pro tip: eat these fresh as they do not reheat well.
Picante pineapple pizza- Pineapple, jalapenos, and Italian sausage crumble. Aaron did not like the pineapple portion of this pizza but found a new love in the jalapeno and Italian sausage crumble combo to the point where we ate this two more times. We believe it is using the Follow Your Heart cheese which paired extremely well with the flavors on this. Aaron prefers this with no pineapple and Hayden prefers it with no jalapenos.
Chicken Pot Pie Gnocchi- Homemade cream sauce, chicken, peas & mushrooms with a local herb blend. Holy moly is this good! This dish was devoured in almost record time and had us scraping the bottom of the bowl with our spoons. This is highly recommended!
Brownie Sundae- Vanilla and chocolate ice cream, caramelized banana, brownie, assorted berries. This was a pretty good combination of flavors but the berries can introduce a bitterness which overpowered some of the sweetness to the dessert. The banana was great and the brownie perfectly complemented the vanilla and chocolate ice cream.
Carrot cake- Raw cashew with lemon frosting. This was, unfortunately, a severe let down especially since carrot cake is Hayden’s go to dessert. It felt as if the base of this was ground up canned carrot that had an unpleasant texture to it. Granted it was more on the raw side, so it was good in that way, but just wasn’t to our liking.
