Only a few lucky vegans were born into a family with one or more vegan parents. Most of us made the conscious decision to go vegan for ethical reasons. We all wish that humanity would stop eating and exploiting our fellow sentient beings, and one of the main goals of our site is to help open hearts and minds to the issues animals are facing around the globe. One way we hope to achieve that is by sharing their stories on VeganTravel and other social media sites.
There are some amazingly compassionate people around our world trying to help our fellow sentient beings. Most Animal sanctuaries, shelters, and animal rescue centers are run by the truly compassionate, are non-profit, and they are often in need of volunteers and support. Here you can learn which ones your fellow vegans have visited and volunteered for both locally and while they were traveling. Please read their reviews and recommendations and consider visiting an animal care facility in your local area or while traveling, volunteering, or supporting them in any way you can.
