• Throwback Thursday

Although Curaçao wasn’t one of our favourite destinations, we still enjoyed the tropical fruit, the sunny weather, and every moment with our stray friends who were taken care of by CARF.

Curaçao Animal Rights Foundation (CARF) was founded on May 29, 2008. CARF is committed to protect and safeguard the welfare of (stray) a…[Read more]

This past weekend we paid a visit to Beechwood Donuts in St. Catherines, Niagara Falls, and holy man are their doughnuts ever good!!

They are the closest we have had to the yeasty classic donut of our non-vegan days.

My personal fave is the birthday cake.

A doughnut filled with light whipped cream, and topped with mashed vanilla birthday…[Read more]

  • The day has finally come! The @vegantravel team has arrived in Ontario and we are excited!

We had a great time in Niagara Falls! We chugged maple syrup, sang Leonard Cohen songs, sampled some brewskie’s, visited a Tim Hortons, and of course admired the falls.

We’re pumped to show @alan, @shannon, and @jaclynmiller a good time around the big…[Read more]

  • While we were travelling in Thailand, Giselle’s Mom told us about a new vegan restaurant she discovered in Mississauga. Dat Bi Chay, aka The Great Compassion, is an all Vegetarian Vietnamese restaurant with an extensive menu.

Giselle’s Mom treated us and her two cousins to a delicious lunch. It was so hard to pick one item so we ended up…[Read more]

Only a few more hours before we head to the BKK airport to make the LONG journey back to Canada.

Bangkok – Shanghai (10 hour layover) – Calgary- Saskatoon.

Of course we have to make our way to May Veggie Home for one of our last meals.

    • When did they start adding little branded flags (trying to be like Veganerie maybe)? So cute!

      • @vegannomad I am pretty sure they have had them for awhile now. We had them in our burger a year ago when we were here. What did you think of May Veggie Home?

        • Ah! Well I never did get a burger from there so perhaps it’s just on the burgs. I LOVED May Veggie House. One of the best eateries in Bangkok for sure. 🙂

  • Throwback to 2013 when we travelled to the beautiful country of Burma/Myanmar.

We had no idea what to expect from this relatively quiet southeast Asian country. We discovered some of the most genuine locals who were always wanting to talk and thank us for visiting their home, so many delicious vegan options EVERYWHERE, and a slower more relaxed…[Read more]

  • But I don’t want to have only one dessert!!!

Cinnamon Bun, Chocolate-Peanut Butter pie, Caramel Square, and Coconut Cream Pie from Blue Diamond. I am going to miss this place……..

  • Just a little over two weeks before we fly back to Canada……what an incredible 8 months it’s been…..

  • That one time in Kalaw, Myanmar, when a monk invited me into his home to take a photo of him.

If you ever get a chance to visit this amazing country…..DO IT!!!

We have arrived in Kuala Lumpur for an unexpected visa run from Thailand.

Our visas were up on a Sunday and immigration is closed on Sundays, so we didn’t want to risk the fine or worst-being blacklisted from Thailand for a few years, so we hopped on a flight to KL for a few days.

If you need us, we’ll just be catching up on some work, eating…[Read more]

  • Art Collection from the past 6 months 🙂

  • In 225 days, and with the incredible support of the team at VeganTravel, we have visited 18 countries all over this incredible planet.

Giselle (@mindfulwanderlust) and I began in Rome, Italy eating our way through the world’s best gelato, and pizza, and ended in Thailand where we had an unforgettable time with family and friends.

    And in between…[Read more]

    • It was so great hanging with you guys in Germany and Thailand! Hope for hangs again soon! 🙂

    • The last 225 days have been such a blessing for us as well. I am forever grateful that we got to meet and get to know you & Giselle, @vegannomad, @lifestylewithme, and @heyshae! I hope we will all stay in touch in the years to come, and you will all always hold a warm place in our hearts and thoughts. <3

  • Throwback Thursday to that time I made friends in Kalaw, Burma.

  • For the past 2 weeks this charming and affectionate little boy has been greeting us on the land, and hangs around all day while we are working.

We are pretty sure he even stays after we leave.

I think it’s safe to say that we have a new resident who has moved in, and we couldn’t be happier!

    Look at that face! <3
He knows we are suckers for…[Read more]

  • Throwback Thursday to the time @mindfulwanderlust and I travelled Mexico.

  • Today we had a lovely catch up with Kristin @vegannomad at Jay Myjam Jay, one of our favourite local vegan canteens in Chiang Mai.

Great food and great conversation. Can’t wait for our Thursday dinner date
