4 Reviews on “Blackbird Pizzeria”
I have no idea how to properly review this place without just mashing the keyboard and screaming “GO HERE NOW!”
At the time of writing this review, this is the best place I’ve been to on the world tour. Firstly, how amazing is it that there is an entirely vegan pizzeria?! I have wanted to go to one, and I am so happy that one can definitely survive. On top of all the bonuses that come with supporting an entirely vegan business, there is no anxiety of cross-contamination, which I always have when ordering vegan pizza from an omni pizza place.
Before our food even came, we tried out all of the sodas we ordered. The blueberry soda that I ordered was the clear favourite, and there is no doubt as to why: this soda was amazing! We went by Blackbird again the following day, just so I could get some more. They also had a root beer that I actually liked, so that’s something.
Then the food came! We had a Philly cheese steak before the pizza came and it was incredible. And when the pizza came I was in junk food heaven. It was huge! They did not skimp out on the cheese at all. This was very much the kind of pizza you would order and hang out with your friends. It was wonderful.
There was something else accompanying the Philly cheese steak as a starter that I haven’t mentioned yet: the habanero hot wings. I didn’t mention them at the time, because this was the peak of the meal for me. These wings were seriously out-of-this-world good! They are my favourite food item I’ve encountered thus far on this trip. I would advise against them if you are sensitive to spicy foods, because they certainly pack a punch. But if spicy foods are your jam, you absolutely don’t want to pass on the opportunity to try these!
This place was awesome! The food was really really REALLY good and fairly priced. It was really cool going here just as an experience as well. I’ve not seen very many vegan pizzeria’s at all. Not only was this one all vegan, it was all good! Blackbird goes completely above and beyond the call when it comes to vegan food. This is also a super ideal place for the Vegan Traveler as it’s a pretty short walk from the really great hostel we stayed in.
A+, Philly.
Probably the best vegan pizza place I’ve ever gone to. And I consider myself a pizza guru. I don’t remember the pizza I ordered but I remember it being the best damn vegan pizza I’ve ever bought. I also had the habanero wings and o m g. Delicious. Just do yourself a favor and go.
I love Blackbird Pizzeria! It’s awesome to find an all-vegan pizza spot, and the locals seem to love this place. My favorite options would have to be the Haymaker pizza, the Ringer sandwich, the cheese fries and the Spicy Sweet wings. I always look forward to trying new dishes from this place!
Blackbird does offer some healthier options like salads, in addition to some less-healthy desserts if you’re feeling indulgent. However if you get the chance to stop by, you absolutely HAVE to try one of their delicious pizzas!
