My vegan cheese dreams have come true!! We stopped by here after attending Portland Vegan Beer Fest (yes, right after the event), and split a cheese plate. The staff was very friendly and one of the chefs came out to make some recommendations on pairings. My favorite was the Caramelized Onion Camembert, which went surprisingly well with the fruit and bread slices. The other cheese tasted a little smoked, which isn’t my first preference but it was still decent. We thought we would be too full for the marbled cheesecake, but it came out as a dainty little slice that was the perfect end to our day of eating. It’s a raw cheesecake, so that means it’s at least a little healthier…right?
Vtopia has long been on my list of places to visit if ever given the opportunity, and I was so happy when I finally got there! After a big day of chowing down at the Vegan Beer & Food Festival in PDX, we walked over for a light cheese plate and small dessert. I agree with @shannon that the Caramelized Onion Camembert was the favorite of the two we chose, and I was surprised that it was the selection chosen to be paired with the sweeter fruits and jams. So delicious. The other cheese was good, but didn’t stand out compared to that camembert. The cheesecake was so nice, too! It was a great way to end a big day of eating.
Cheese is usually the toughest to give up when going vegan. Vtopia makes up for that and more with delicious, well-crafted cheeses and food offerings that compliment! It’s not often you find a vegan cheese shop so definitely visit them!
