1 Review on “The Shop”
This restaurant was such a nice surprise. It’s new to the Troy, NY area and right now they have more vegan options than any other restaurant in Troy itself! Plus they options are great! With a full bar and specialty cocktails, served up inside a rustic, warmly lit decor, accented by hand crafted wooden tables and chairs and an authentically hip vibe, it’s truly a gem of Troy.
About a quarter of the menu can be veganized and comes with about 2-3 already vegan options including a decadent quinoa salad, a spicy vegetable appetizer, the “44th street seitan” (caramelized house seitan, fermented chili, scallion, sweet & savory sherry sauce w/ korean rice cakes), the “vegan charcuterie sandwich” (olive oil cured vegetables, whole grain mustard & vegan cashew cheese spread on a toasted baguette), and a veganized version of their “american chop suey” (sliced rice cakes tossed w/ smoked paprika ragout & braised seitan, topped w/ goat’s milk crema).
It’s such a great and unique place to have here in little ol’ Troy. The vegans here welcome it with BIG open arms and on a personal note, I can’t wait to go back!
