I wasn’t sure what to expect from Vital Root, but I got very excited when I was looking at the menu online. Right off the bat, when I first went to this place I was a little confused about where to order, since there is a counter that you pay at first. Basically, you walk up to one counter to order your drinks (including some pre-made beverages in the cooler), and then you walk to the next counter to order your food. The menu was a little confusing in terms of what was vegan by default and what couldn’t be made vegan (they should really put a “V” by the vegan-by-default items), but the staff could immediately let us know what we could have. Our group split a few small plates: Korean BBQ Veggie “Wings”, Raw Beet Ravioli, and Yuca Fries with grilled banana ketchup. These items were all really good, although I was a little worried when the server brought our food out and realized one of the dipping sauces was not vegan (but she took it away as soon as it came to our table). The Sunflower Seed Risotto really stole the show, and was definitely filling enough for two or more people to share. Our group also got to try the mochi churros (vegan!) which had a nice flavor, though they were a little different in terms of texture than your standard churros. I thought prices here were a little steeper than I am used to, but if you order a few things for the table and split it you end up saving a good amount. Ambience was very nice and I love their outdoor seating area. Be sure to check this place out next time you’re in the neighborhood!
Took a trip to this little gem today with the VeganTravel team! I knew i was in for a treat when i started reading the menu. So many options, so little stomach room! Luckily the group likes to order a handful of dishes and share so i got to try a little of this and a little of that (sharing is caring!) 99% of their dishes are vegan or can be made vegan and boy are they delicious! And as if the food wasn’t good enough, the atmosphere was wonderful. The back patio is so earthy and inviting. What an awesome experience. So glad I got to try this spot out with the crew. I highly recommend it!
