Green Point is an entirely vegan restaurant with amazing bread and awesome servers. There are two locations in Cusco, one in San Blas, and this is the second location, in San Francisco Plaza.

They should change the name of this restaurant to ‘On Point’, because the food here is on point! The menu is extremely varied. Seeing three of my favourite items that can appear on any menu (burrito, burger, and curry), I knew that no matter what I chose would be a good call. What I did not expect, however, was to fall in love with the bread we ordered at the side. We ordered it because we knew that Peruvian bread was a big deal, and this here is where my eyes were completely open to that! I am generally not into bread. The bread was soft and warm, the crust was perfect, and the flavour was unbelievable. Ripping and dipping this in the salsa and pumpkin sauces you get at the side was the best part of my dining experience, and one of the best dining experiences of my entire travel.
The prices are definitely higher than you generally pay in Peru, but it is still much less than you would pay in most countries, particularly somewhere like Scotland, or the US. The staff are incredibly friendly, and go absolutely out of their way to ensure you have a wonderful dining experience.
We came back the day we left, just to get some more of that bread. The staff remembered us, were incredibly warm, and expressed sadness that we were leaving Cusco, and then Peru soon after. I noticed this time that they had a spicy salsa that doesn’t come out as a default. If you enjoy hot foods I would definitely suggest asking for this with the bread! If you can’t handle spice I would give it a miss, because it packs a bit of a kick.
Green Point is awesome for a lot of reasons. The sandwiches are great, the juices are delicious and refreshing, the staff are wonderful… But all I really want to talk about is the bread. If you go here, buy the bread. The bread is incredible. It is life-changing. It is beautiful. It is Peruvian bread. I understand now why Peru is so proud of its bread.
