  Okay, it might be a little ridiculous to give a cafe a 5-star review based on one croissant, but that is exactly what I’m about to do. While in Europe, I assumed (correctly) that I’d have my fair share of vegan croissant options, something I don’t have nearly enough of where I live. So, I made a promise to myself to order a vegan croissant whenever I came across one during my trip. I ended up having four different croissant experiences altogether, and the praline-filled beaut I got at Charlie’s far and above crushed the rest. It had the right amount of flake, a slight saltiness to the pastry, and the filling was heavenly. The staff was also incredibly friendly, and the other items they had on display and on the menu sounded wonderful, even though I zeroed in on the croissant and never looked back. Charlie’s is doing something right in the pastry department, and if that’s any indication of the rest of their offerings, I imagine you can’t go wrong.
