Chase Hospitality Group opened Planta to create delicious food that promotes environmental sustainability. CHG partnered with Chef David Lee to fill a void in the market of upscale, full service, plant-based dining options. The restaurant’s vision is to celebrate innovative cuisine in a beautiful environment without the use of any animal products. There’s more to responsible plant-based eating then just taking animals off the plate and our commitment to using high quality products from ethical suppliers provides the foundation for our chefs to be proud of the food they serve.

After winning best bakery in the city for 2014, Apiecalypse Now decided to expand and innovate! Opening in 2015, Toronto’s first vegan Pizza Shop & Snack Bar! What’s a snack bar? That’s the real beautiful part of this whole thing–it’s basically your vegan junk food dreams come alive. Vegan Corn Dogs… Vegan Doughnuts… Vegan Cheezy Garlic Bread… Buffalo Ranch Salads and Vegan Not-Chicken Caesar Salads. Our pizzas are done in an authentic pizza oven that never even one time has had meat in it. Also aren’t you tired of omnivores just sprinkling some Daiya on some crust and calling it vegan pizza? We 1) know how to make vegan cheese taste like the real thing 2) we make our own mock meat and we know how to cook it so it doesn’t taste like a mummy’s fingers 3) We understand how wholly sick you are of just eating tomato sauce and veggies. For too long Toronto has envied all those American cities with real vegan toppings and more than one vegan sauce base, and dip… remember GARLIC DIP? We do. And we got you. We have 6 kinds of dip. And you can eat all of it. Fool your friends! P00n your hockey team by making them eat vegetarian and totally not know! Maybe die at a slightly slower rate because you didn’t eat bacon today! Just come get some authentically vegan, not passably vegan pizza and stuff it in your cool beautiful faces.

Bunner’s Bakeshop was started by Ashley Wittig and Kevin MacAllister – two entrepreneurs who saw the need in Toronto for a bakery that caters to those with food sensitivities and allergies AND tastes just like traditional baked goods. No compromises. After a summer of testing Ash’s creations at a local farmer’s market and watching their fan base grow by the week, they started looking for a bricks and mortar location. With a shoe-string budget, some first class haggling over rent and equipment, and a whole lot of moxy and elbow grease they opened their first retail location on Dec. 11 2010. Once it got out that you could buy piping hot GF & V bread, cinnamon buns and muffins baked fresh daily, customers took it upon themselves to spread the word and Bunner’s grew from a few friends to a big family. Bunner’s currently has two retail locations, a cook book published by Harper Collins in Canada and the USA, and employs a staff of more then 20 of the most awesome bakers and customer service reps you’ll ever meet!

Our food is inspired and prepared according to the Ontario growing season, so our market menu changes depending on what is available from our local farmers. We use all vegan and mainly raw ingredients and choose organic wherever possible. We offer a savoury menu full of fresh, plant-based produce from various Ontario farms, seasoned and spiced with bright, rich flavors. Our sweet menu consists of raw nuts, seeds, fresh and dried fruits and natural sweeteners such as agave nectar, maple syrup and honey. Our drink menu is made up of smoothies, fresh juices, and lemonades. We dehydrate, blend, chop, grate, soak, roast, boil, sprout and mix our ingredients, all of which add to the variety and uniqueness of our food. Above all, we aspire to make simply delicious and healthful food, the same kind of food we love to eat and enjoy. Green Earth in Toronto is a family owned restaurant offering the finest vegan fusion cuisine. The restaurant originated from our deep passion for vegetarian cooking, and the hope to share with all how hearty, healthy and exciting vegan food can be. It is a great way to show compassion to our animal friends and also a very effective way to reduce one’s carbon footprint, from which inspired the name of the restaurant. Our varied menu is sure to please any palate, including dishes from America, Italy, Mexico, China, Thailand, and Vietnam. All are fresh, delicious, and with great flavor. Green Earth’s goal is to be organic. So, it uses organic ingredients whenever possible or when it’s financially feasible. In addition, all of our take-out materials, from utensils to containers, are biodegradable and environmentally friendly.

The lovemuffin bakery creates delicious vegan and gluten-free baked goods. Our healthy muffins are made with ingredients such as unsweetened applesauce, unsweetened almond milk, agave nectar and very little sugar or oil. Our decadent cookies are made with the highest quality ingredients, such as unbleached organic wheat flour, maple syrup, and organic sugar. Our products are not enormous, like many of the baked goods available for purchase at coffee shop chains and grocery stores. To us, it’s important that our customers can go in for a second cookie without feeling guilty (and without surpassing their recommended sugar intake for the day!) We pride ourselves on the quality of our products. An item will only make it on our menu if it passes a blind taste test – where the tester doesn’t know it’s vegan or gluten-free. We don’t want people to have to settle for a less than perfect product because of food allergies or lifestyle choices.
