The Home Of Edinburgh’s Largest Nachos! We serve quality pub food in nice big portions. Lots of our dishes are vegetarian and many are vegan. We are very passionate about ale. We serve Hobgoblin and Bitter & Twisted permanently, and a guest ale from craft breweries such as Cromarty Brewing, Dark Star, Fyne Ale, Magic Rock, Moor and Tiny Rebel. As for malt whisky we sell all the usual favourites with a number of special limited edition and cask strength bottlings. Our jukebox is legendary in Edinburgh for having the best selection of metal, punk and goth music. Bands such as Black Flag, Danzig, Deftones, Mastodon, Nitzer Ebb and Tiger Army make up the soundtrack to a stay in The Auld Hoose. Quiz night is 8pm every Tuesday and we are dog friendly. Oh yeah, students get a 10% discount on all food purchases! Keep up to date with us on Twitter @TheAuldHoose — The Auld Hoose offers vegan or vegan options for a full Scottish veggie breakfast, onion rings chips, chilli, veg haggis, nachos with vegan cheese and guac, falafel burger, etc.

Look no further if you’re looking for a place to hang out and talk light hearted conversations over seriously good food. There is nothing typical about this café; it’s a rustic downstairs hideaway that’s as individual as its owners – so expect some extraordinary menu choices. The Caffeine Drip is the brainchild of the previous owner of the Zulu Lounge on Morningside Road, Chris and his partner, Dariusz. Following a leisurely trip to Chris’s native South Africa, they decided to bring something authentic, bold and daring back to Edinburgh’s West End. The menu contains an impressive assortment that caters to every palate, including vegans. The secret to the success of this café lies in the fact that the owners have managed to capture that elusive balance of offering healthy delicacies while simultaneously appealing to the indulgent pleasure seeker.

Our aim is to make you the best soups you can find and serve them quickly in compostable packaging. We make all our own soups from locally-sourced and seasonal ingredients and are proud to have been awarded “Best Soup Scotland 2013 ” by the Good Soup Guide and two Great Taste Awards. We also make salads to the same standards. Our soups are usually gluten-free because we don’t thicken with flour. (We will tell you when a soup contains gluten.) We also provide a choice of gluten-free breads and cakes. We have Artisan Roast coffee, gourmet hot chocolate, teas from Eteaket, cakes and pastries plus a wide range of snacks and drinks. We cater mainly for take-out but we do have a few seats. If you want us to save you a space, call us: 0131 226 4436. You need soup.
