The Lillipad Cafe is situated directly across the road from the ever-popular Rusty’s Markets, and the lively Gilligan’s Backpackers Hotel & Resort. The interior decor is very hippy-slash-backpackers, with vibrant deep-red walls, tables and chairs crammed in to the narrow room, a few eclectic armchairs, and a credenza at the back offering free filtered water, newspapers and street-presses. However, the clientale ranges dramatically, with people from all walks of life venturing in to get their fill. Lillipad’s is a very friendly cafe, where it is not unusual to strike up a conversation with your neighbouring diners.
The menu is far from concise and the list is almost overwhelming. There are also gluten free and vegan dishes. The menu offers breakfast and lunch all day from 7am-3pm.

It’s just an average cafe, but it’s got a few vegan options. A bit narrow, but there’s also an outside seating area. The food wasn’t spectacular, but it was yummy and filling. Decent portions. Food can be a bit slow if they’re busy, which they tend to be. I’d definitely come back though 🙂
