Reviews on Accommodations

  • I’ve stayed at several hotels in Stockholm, and this Hilton is one of my favorites. It isn’t cheap, but it’s quite reasonable compared to similar hotels in Stockholm. It is located in the Södermalm district of Stockholm, adjacent to Gamla Stan (their Old City), and close to the city center. Both districts are very cool and have lots of vegan and vegan friendly restaurants and vegan grocery stores. Including Hermans, who have one the best vegan buffets, anywhere.

All rooms come with WiFi, and access to an excellent gym.

  • This hotel is one of the closest hotels to the Eiffel Tower and the rooms facing the tower offer an incredible view. And as you might imagine, getting a room with that view is quite expensive and has to be reserved in advance. Before this hotel became a member of the Accor Hotels chain, it used to be the Hilton Paris Eiffel Tower. The hotel is a block from the Metro, has fast WiFi, and a fitness center. And if you like to run outdoors, there is a public track and field just across the street. Unfortunately like most of the Accor hotels I’ve stayed at, vegan meal options are hard to come by, but you can always ask the chef if they can prepare a special meal for you.

  • We stayed here before and after a Galapagos cruise we did in 2014. The rooms and outdoor swimming pools were amazing, but even better – the staff provided excellent service and we were able to easily order tasty vegan meals from the restaurants for breakfast and dinner, and even from our room. Attached is a photo of one of meals.

  • The Sheraton Maui is on one of the nicest stretches of beach in Kaanapali – next to Black Rock, which has some of the best snorkeling & diving in Kaanapali. There is also one of the nicest beach walking and jogging trails going several kilometers in each direction.

None of Sheraton restaurants have any vegan options on their menus, but their breakfast buffet is accidentally vegan with lots of fresh fruits, tortillas, avocados, beans, rice, salad. But at $20 per person for breakfast, there are better vegan-friendly options nearby that make a lot more sense – for example the all vegetarian Farmers Market is a quick drive, or a 30-minute walk along the beach, and they have yummy smoothies, bagels, vegan cakes & cookies, and an assortment of ready made vegan meals. They also have loads of vegan grocery items and fresh produce.

A tip for people not staying at the Sheraton – all beaches in Hawaii are free & open to the public so you can go to any of them. And there is free parking at nearby Whalers Village (if you buy anything in any of their stores or restaurants & get your parking ticket stamped). A couple of those restaurants have vegan options, and from Whalers it is only a 5-minute walk to the beach at Black Rock.

  • The rooms at the Sheraton Tel Aviv feel overpriced given their age and ambiance, but where this hotel shines is it’s amazing location and it’s incredible vegan buffet breakfast. It has one of the best locations for Tel Aviv’s beach hotels – a few meters from the beach and a few blocks from the Dizengoff Street’s restaurants and cafes. The sunset view from the Sheraton is spectacular, and the beach walkway gives you the option of running or biking miles in either direction.

For us however, the vegan breakfast is why we keep coming back. They have a labeled “Vegan Corner” with loads of vegan prepared dishes and deserts. We were told that they have 3-vegan chefs working at this hotel. But if you are going to book this hotel, make sure to book a room with the breakfast included in the price, as paying for the breakfast separately is ridiculously priced at $30 per person.
