Uluru / Ayers Rock is one of the most extraordinary places you can visit and truly one of the natural wonders of the world! But it gets really hot during the day (over 40 C / 104 F) so it is best to arrive early around sunrise or later in the afternoon close to sunset. Those are also the two best times if you would like to get some amazing photographs. There is a trail around Uluru, which is around 10K (6.2 miles). If you decide to do the walk, please be sure to bring lots of water as they only have a couple of places to get water along the trails (and one was empty on the day we visited). Also I highly recommend wearing a hat with a fly mesh. But even with the flies and heat, it is such an amazing place and I wouldn’t hesitate to return there someday!
